Reports to Video Producer / Editor (Lead) Location Dallas · partially remote Schedule Flexible editing hours + some presence at programs About the Role Roots is looking for a part-time Video Editor to work alongside our Video Producer / Editor (Lead), turning what we capture into finished pieces that ship. You'll cut short-form and reels, take on overflow edits when volume spikes, and serve as real backup so the pipeline never depends on a single person. This role exists because of ta'awun: no one carries their work alone. Our video volume is not steady, it surges around programs, the podcast, and events. Without a second pair of hands, everything queues behind one person and good footage dies on a drive. You are the reason that doesn't happen. You are not the one setting the standard here; the video lead is. That is meant to be freeing. It lets you focus on the craft of the edit itself, working to a bar someone else holds, with real room to grow into more over time. What we ask is that the work you touch makes it all the way out (itqaan): shot, cut, exported, and live. This is a part-time, flexible role. You and the video lead set your editing hours together, and the weeks around programs and podcast recordings are the busy ones. What You'll Own The edits.
