Chris and Amy Setser with The Mortgage Firm are looking for an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator who lives in the Ocala area and wants to help us build a stronger local presence. We’re looking for someone who: Has at least 2 years of MLO experience Has successfully closed 10-20+ loans Knows the Ocala market and wants to grow their business locally Is self-motivated, outgoing, dedicated, and relationship-driven Wants to be part of a team, not simply work alongside one Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required. Most importantly, we’re looking for the right person to grow with us. You’ll have real support, resources, and a team invested in helping you succeed as we expand in the Ocala market. Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid Mortgage Loan Originator role based in Ocala, FL, with the flexibility to perform some duties from home. The Mortgage Loan Originator will work directly with borrowers to gather and analyze financial information, assess credit profiles, and recommend appropriate mortgage products. Daily responsibilities include originating and structuring residential mortgage loans, guiding clients through application and approval processes, and maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with regulatory and company policies. The role involves collaborating with underwriting, processing, and closing teams to ensure timely and efficient loan approvals and funding. The Mortgage Loan Originator will also build and maintain relationships with referral partners, such as real estate professionals, to generate new business and support ongoing client needs. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Loan Origination and Mortgage Lending for residential financing. Candidates should possess skills in Underwriting and Loans to evaluate risk and structure appropriate mortgage solutions. Candidates should possess skills in Finance to interpret income, assets, credit, and debt-to-income ratios. Active Mortgage Loan Originator license (NMLS) in applicable state(s) or eligibility to obtain required licensing. Experience in retail mortgage lending, preferably in Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, and Jumbo loan products. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly. Proficiency with loan origination systems and standard office software; strong attention to detail and regulatory compliance. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing time and pipeline independently while collaborating with onsite and remote teams.
