Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day shift, 5x8 hours (07:00 - 15:30), Monday through Friday.

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team. The RN will be responsible for providing safe, age-appropriate care to a diverse patient population including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The nursing staff in the Operating Room supports advanced technology, minimally invasive techniques, and evidence-based care.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in the Operating Room, ensuring safety and quality.
• Function as a resource for patients and their families.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive surgical care.
• Assist in trauma and emergency surgeries, providing critical support based on established protocols.
• Adhere to all safety standards including fire safety and infection control.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room experience required.
• Experience in a Level II trauma center is required; Level I trauma experience is preferred.
• Current Maryland or compact RN license is required upon submission.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS, NIH, and PALS certifications are preferred.
• Completion of a 16-hour Maryland-approved trauma course within 27 weeks and 8 hours of annual trauma CEUs are mandatory.
