Sterile Processing CoordinatorResponsible for workflow supervision of all activities related to Decontamination, Packaging, Sterilization, Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement in compliance with the departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Minimum of five years' experience in Sterile Processing if not certified, required.Licensure/certification: Recognized SPD Certification, required.Additional skills required: This Technician must hold a certification from IAHCSMM (International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management) CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or Certification from CBSPD, CSPDT (Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) or have 5 years of applicable experience in lieu of certification. Must Maintain either certification status and the annual educational hours required by each of the organizations. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrates knowledge of instrumentation and sterile/aseptic technique. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions to assemble instrument sets and trays.
