Position Overview
The Industrial Hygienist/Safety Professional is responsible for providing expert oversight, guidance, and support to ensure the health and safety of personnel across various projects and work environments. This role involves conducting assessments, reviewing safety documentation, and participating in project planning to identify and mitigate potential hazards. The ideal candidate is an experienced safety leader with a strong background in industrial hygiene, regulatory compliance, and field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform project oversight inspections to ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and project requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive hazard assessments and recommend corrective actions or controls to minimize risks.
- Lead or support accident and injury investigations, including root-cause analysis and development of corrective and preventive actions.
- Review safety-related documents, including Site Safety Plans, Job Hazard Analyses, SOPs, and contractor submittals.
- Attend project meetings to provide input on safety requirements, planning considerations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with project teams, management, and contractors to ensure safe and compliant work execution.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs, traverse uneven terrain, and access elevated or confined areas as needed for inspections.
- Willingness to work in various environmental conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely for project site travel.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 20 years of direct, relevant experience in industrial hygiene, environmental health and safety (EHS), or safety management.
- Q Clearance
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
