HSE Specialist I

Location RMS Albuquerque – Santa Teresa, NM – Project Jupiter (Data Center) RMS is looking to add an experienced full-time HSE Manager to our growing company. The following requirements must be met in order to be considered for this position. Hourly: $30 to $40 hourly, plus per diem, depending on experience and qualifications. Summary The position ensures and promotes Safety First, holding safety meetings for the employee(s) at the job site, maintaining customer focus while following all State and Federal laws, and following RMS Cranes, LLC. and our customers’ safety and environmental policies. Responsibilities Communicate safety policies with the customer and RMS Cranes employees before and during the job task. Perform field audits at customers’ job sites to verify proper setup of the crane and equipment. Enter all audits, findings, incidents, investigations, and corrective actions into the Ideagen software application. Verify proper rigging and techniques are being utilized during lifts. Audit RMS Crane Operator, Rigger, and Signal Person for company‑issued credentials. Audit the quarterly inspection (slings, shackles, and chains) for each crane. Audit the RMS Crane Driver of the semi‑truck for proper inspection logs and logbooks. Monitor and inspect crane, semi‑truck, pick‑up trucks, and/or trailers for tire wear and vehicle inspection reports. Perform Crane Operator and Rigging assessments on RMS Cranes employees, record information, and submit reports to the branch office. Investigate, interview, and record information on all near‑misses and incidents. Read, interpret, and calculate load percentages using the crane owner’s load charts and operation manual. Recognize proper rigging techniques to ensure safe lifting of the load. Perform other job duties as assigned. Qualifications Preferred: Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety, crane, or construction operations. Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a health and safety related discipline. OSHA 30‑hour construction certification. OSHA 510 certification. Strong organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills. Ability to self‑manage, prioritize, and coordinate multiple daily tasks within tight deadlines. Strong phone, tablet, and computer application skills and a good learning ability.
