Resident Aide, Medical Clinic - Iowa Veterans Home

Resident Aide

The Iowa Veterans Home is looking for full-time Resident Aide for the Medical Clinic. Scheduled hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Duties include but not limited to:

• Assist residents to attend appointments in the Medical Clinic and Rehab Services.
• Follows all established procedures for safe resident escorting including proper position in wheelchairs, use of safety devices, and mode of transportation.
• Assist with coordination of escorting schedule to accommodate unit/resident needs. Helps with notification of unit when appts are ahead/behind schedule to help maintain the flow of appts.
• Monitor equipment and supplies used and enter supply orders to maintain par levels as needed. Will follow cleaning and disinfecting protocols as specified in policy/procedures.
