Principal Network Engineer

To take ownership of the network that powers the business across a hybrid environment of AWS cloud and on-premise branch offices, the full-time remote Principal Network Engineer will manage network operations, lead the evaluation and deployment of security capabilities, and drive automation and infrastructure as code initiatives. Key responsibilities Own and operate the hybrid network, focusing on standardization, reliability, and security across AWS and on-premise environments Lead the technical evaluation and deployment of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) and Secure Web Gateway (SWG) capabilities Drive network infrastructure as code using Terraform, ensuring changes are version-controlled and repeatable Required qualifications Strong hands-on networking fundamentals across routing, switching, DNS, and load balancing in both cloud and on-premise contexts Proven experience managing a Palo Alto environment, including VM-Series firewalls and security policy management Extensive AWS networking experience in a multi-account environment, including VPC design and Transit Gateway Practical experience with infrastructure as code, specifically using Terraform Comfort operating in production environments with formal change management processes
