Security Officer Patrol

As a Security Officer Patrol in Roanoke, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and respond to alarms and other site needs. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while contributing to a caring, reliable team that acts with integrity. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $15.85 / Hour Job Schedule: Tue: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM Fri: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM Sat: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM Sun: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utility location. Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and escalation procedures. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity. Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate security-related logs and reports. Report observed hazards, suspicious activity, equipment concerns, and policy violations to site leadership and/or appropriate responders. Minimum Requirements: Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client. A guard card or license is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred. Access control and badge experience is preferred. Alarm panel experience is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
