Job Description: 

The kennel Assistant is primarily responsible for keeping both the kennel and hospital areas clean and organized. This position involves a significant amount of cleaning to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for the animals. Additionally, the assistant will help with restraining animals as needed during procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Clean, disinfect and reset kennels between patients
• Launder, store and manage hospital linens and surgical textiles
• Safely handle and restrain patients using low stress techniques to assist both doctors and technicians when necessary 
• Clean and restock surgical and treatment areas in accordance with aseptic protocols 
• Ensure that the exterior of the facility is free from debris and presents a professional appearance
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Reliable, professional, and able to work independently within defined responsibilities 
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time 
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• 1 year of experience in a veterinary hospital preferred 

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
