Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with at least 2 years of L&D experience and an active PA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Facility averages 200-300 births per month
• Night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:00) and Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:00) schedules available
• Patient ratio of 1:1-2
• Cerner charting system used, experience preferred
• Floating required within the hospital based on unit needs
• Floating to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius may be required
• Coverage required for every other holiday

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, FHM, and AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Experience with EFM, IUPC placement, and fetal heart rate monitoring
• Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries
• Experience managing antepartum, postpartum, and neonatal care
• Experience with obstetric medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Experience caring for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, and preterm labor

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care areas
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and complex obstetric cases
• Support breastfeeding and lactation education for postpartum patients
• Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and neonatal resuscitation as needed
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Travel pairs may be accommodated based on facility need, though matching schedules cannot be guaranteed
