Job Title: Material Handler Job Description

The Material Handler supports daily operations by safely handling materials, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, and maintaining accurate documentation and data entry. This role also builds and secures large crates and shipping containers for finished products and provides basic manufacturing support when shipping and receiving demands are lower. This is a first-shift position working approximately 40–50 hours per week.

• Handle incoming and outgoing materials safely and efficiently to support production and distribution activities.
• Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including preparing shipments, verifying quantities, and checking documentation for accuracy.
• Build, assemble, and secure large crates and shipping containers to protect finished products during transport.
• Operate a forklift to move, load, and unload materials, components, and finished goods as required.
• Update and maintain inventory records in the ERP system, ensuring accurate data entry and traceability.
• Use Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications to track, record, and report inventory and material movements.
• Support basic manufacturing operations when not engaged in shipping and receiving tasks, including assisting with production-related activities.
• Read and interpret blueprints and documents, such as contracts or work orders, to ensure correct handling and shipment of materials.
• Apply knowledge of production and processing to help maximize efficient manufacturing and distribution of goods.
• Use saws and hand tools safely to cut, modify, or prepare materials and packaging as needed.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations to verify counts, measurements, and inventory levels.
• Operate vehicles as needed for material transport, in accordance with a valid driver’s license and safe driving practices.
• Lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily material handling duties.

• Proven experience in material handling, including shipping, receiving, and inventory support.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift for material movement.
• Ability to safely work with saws and hand tools for building and securing crates and containers.
• Basic mathematics skills to perform counts, measurements, and simple calculations.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret blueprints and documents, such as contracts and work orders.
• Effective English communication skills, both oral and written.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Computer skills to update and maintain inventory within an ERP system.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed for material handling tasks.

• Knowledge of production and processing, including raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for efficient manufacturing and distribution.
• Experience using an ERP, MRP, or inventory management system.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for tracking and analyzing inventory data.

This role operates in a manufacturing and warehouse setting on a first shift schedule, typically totaling 40–50 hours per week. You will frequently work around production equipment, storage areas, and shipping docks while handling raw materials and finished goods. The position requires regular use of forklifts, saws, hand tools, and computer systems, including ERP software and Microsoft Office applications. The work involves standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working safely around machinery and material handling equipment in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Sussex, WI.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Sussex,WI.
