Materials Management and Transportation Manager

Job Title Materials Management and Transportation Manager Location & Shift Renton, Washington Shift: 2nd shift, Monday‑Friday 1:30pm – 10:00pm. Ability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays, is required. Position Overview As a Materials Management and Transportation Manager, you will lead a dynamic workforce to improve the 737 Fulfillment operations. Your role focuses on compliance, inventory control, procurement coordination, warehouse optimization, and freight management to ensure on‑time delivery, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities Manage and integrate activities across Tooling, Hazmat, Consumables and Standards. Develop and execute project and process plans; implement policies, procedures, and operational goals. Acquire resources and provide technical management of suppliers; lead continuous process improvement initiatives. Maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports. Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. Lead, develop, and motivate employees; foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Apply data‑driven forecasting and process improvement methodologies to reduce stockouts and excess inventory. Collaborate cross‑functionally with production, procurement, and logistics partners to support business objectives. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of experience in supply chain and inventory management. 5+ years of experience in operations and/or manufacturing processes. 3+ years of experience in Production Control/Materials Management. 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain or Materials Management. At least 1 year of formal leadership experience or completion of Boeing internal “Exploring Leadership” course. Willingness to work any shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays. U.S. Person status required for export control compliance. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree. 1+ year of experience in Inventory Management Methodologies. 1+ year of experience with Problem‑Solving Methodologies. 3+ years of experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and/or the Production System. 3+ years of proven leadership with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. 3+ years of experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Quality, or a regulated industry. 3+ years of experience with business knowledge, leadership, and people skills to inspire a safe work environment.
