Job Summary

The CNC Operator/Machine Shop Helper is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to manufacture precision parts and components. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, and a commitment to producing high-quality products while maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

·        Set up and operate CNC lathes

·        Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.

·        Load raw materials into CNC machines and secure materials properly.

·        Monitor machine operations to ensure parts meet specifications and quality standards.

·        Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures.

·        Make basic machine adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency.

·        Replace worn cutting tools and perform routine tool changes.

·        Record production data, inspection results, and machine downtime accurately.

·        Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles.

·        Perform routine preventative maintenance and report equipment issues to maintenance personnel.

·        Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

·        Work collaboratively with supervisors, quality inspectors, and production team members.

Qualifications

·        High school diploma or GED required.

·        Minimum 1–3 years of CNC machine operating experience preferred.

·        Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.

·        Experience using precision measuring instruments.

·        Basic math and mechanical aptitude.

·        Ability to identify quality issues and make minor machine adjustments.

·        Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

·        Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

·        Forklift experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements

·        Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

·        Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

·        Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.

·        Manual dexterity to operate machinery and measuring equipment.

·        Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment.

Schedule & Pay

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (overtime may be required)

Shift: Day or Night Shift (varies by customer)

Pay: $17.00
