DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the Southeastern Veterans' Center. The work supports the health and comfort of everyone in the facility. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:

• Deep Cleaning: Perform thorough cleaning in resident rooms, common spaces, offices, and specialized areas
• General Upkeep: Carry out regular tasks such as mopping, dusting, polishing, and buffing surfaces
• Restroom Care: Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies
• Waste Handling: Remove trash, dispose of recyclables, and manage infectious waste appropriately
• Room Preparation: Rearrange, sanitize, and organize resident rooms before occupation
• Safety Support: Maintain safe conditions, report hazards, and use protective equipment when required

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), with rotating days and weekends and a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Requirement:

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

• Willing to work in Spring City, Chester County, Pennsylvania.
• Willing to work 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with rotating days and weekends to be determined.
• Work experience as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning person. This experience may include cleaning restrooms; cleaning resident rooms, offices, or public areas; and performing tasks such as mopping, scrubbing, dusting, sweeping, or buffing.
• Work experience in an assisted living facility, nursing home, or hospital
• Work experience interacting with patients or residents while cleaning in-patient or resident rooms or in a dining room setting
• Work experience cleaning bodily fluids and disposing infectious waste in proper storage areas

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
