Advanced Cardiac SonographerPart-time, 64-72 hours/pay period Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pmThe Advanced Cardiac Sonographer will perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms and other cardiac ultrasound procedures while helping establish imaging protocols, quality standards, and workflow processes. As the laboratory grows, this individual will have the opportunity to serve as the Technical Director for echocardiography accreditation, providing clinical leadership and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and best practices.Perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms and other cardiac ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.Acquire complete diagnostic studies for accurate physician interpretation.Utilize advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology to obtain optimal imaging.Recognize significant findings and communicate urgent or critical results to the interpreting cardiologist or appropriate clinical staff.Ensure accurate documentation and timely completion of examination reports.Verify studies are properly archived in the imaging system.Maintain equipment and ensure examination rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared.Participate in continuing education to remain current with evolving echocardiography practices and technology.Assist in the development and implementation of echocardiography protocols, policies, and best practices.Participate in equipment evaluation, quality assurance initiatives, and workflow optimization.Collaborate with physicians and leadership to establish a high-performing echocardiography laboratory.Support staff education and competency development as the program expands.Help prepare the laboratory for accreditation through the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) or other applicable accrediting organizations.Serve as Technical Director for the echocardiography laboratory upon meeting accreditation requirements.Oversee quality improvement initiatives, protocol standardization, and ongoing compliance with accreditation standards.Monitor image quality, technical performance, and sonographer competencies.Partner with physician leadership to maintain excellence in patient care and laboratory operations.Education and Experience:Required QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program.Current Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).Current BLS certification required or obtained within 90 days of start date.Minimum of 5 years of cardiac sonography experience, with demonstrated proficiency in adult echocardiography.Strong knowledge of echocardiography standards, image optimization, and cardiovascular anatomy and pathology.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience assisting with laboratory accreditation (IAC or equivalent).Experience developing imaging protocols or quality improvement initiatives.Leadership, mentoring, or preceptor experience.Experience serving as or qualifying to serve as an Echocardiography Technical Director.Experience with stress echocardiography and contrast echocardiography.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExcellent technical and diagnostic imaging skills.Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Commitment to exceptional patient care and continuous quality improvement.Employment is contingent on passing, drug screening, health assessment and background check.Benefits & Compensation:Base Pay Range: $37.85-$56.75Our clinic environment offers primarily daytime, weekday schedules, helping employees maintain consistency in their daily routines.
