Job Summary Location: Methodist Physicians Clinic - North Streams Urgent Care Address: 4932 S 202nd Ave, Omaha, NE Work Schedule: 12‑hour shifts 10am–10pm, Weekdays with rotating weekend and holidays 12pm–6pm Must be willing to float to other urgent‑care locations when needed. Sign‑on bonus of $2,500.00. Responsibilities Medical Home – Document all lab, procedures, and appointments on tracking forms; complete tracking; follow up on missed appointments and procedures. Assist Health Coaches – Work patient lists and schedule appointments as directed. Patient and Family Education – Provide education 98% of the time, recommend community resources as needed. Telephone Triage – Determine patient needs, record and report patient condition to provider, advise patient; return calls within 90 minutes based on priority 95% of the time. Maintain Work Areas – Clean and organize equipment and rooms; keep work area healthy and compliant. Prescription Management – Handle renewals/inquiries, discuss questions with provider, relay information to pharmacy; complete refills per protocol 99% of the time. Age‑Specific Care – Provide appropriate care based on patient age per the “Age Specific Criteria”. Floor Prepare exam rooms and equipment per provider protocol 95% of the time. Prepare patient for provider exam – review records, weigh, check vitals, reconcile medication, and obtain relevant info. Assist providers – retrieve tests and records, obtain lab work 95% of the time. Dispense medications as directed; instruct patients and families on proper use. Perform phlebotomy with labeling and handling of specimens; complete requisitions and quality control 95% of the time. Ensure accurate order entry and documentation 98% of the time. Phone Answer calls, return messages, provide test results, and process pharmacy refills according to protocol at least 98% of the time. Accurately complete pharmacy requests 100% of the time. Education High School diploma or GED required. Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program required. Experience Previous Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/medical experience preferred. License/Certifications Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS strongly preferred at time of hire; required within 3 months. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures. Medical knowledge: recognition and diagnosis of diseases, deformities, and other illnesses. Time‑management and prioritization skills. Typing proficiency for accurate data entry. Patient‑care communication and empathy. Active listening and effective information conveyance. Problem‑solving and flexibility in daily tasks. Computer navigation proficiency, including patient information systems. Strong verbal communication with providers, staff, and patients. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Physical Requirements Weight Demands Medium work – withstanding up to 50 pounds of force.
