Role: Principal Software Architect (Financial Platforms)

We're partnering with an innovative technology organisation on the build-out of a next-generation financial platform. This is a senior architecture leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex distributed systems challenges, shaping long-term technical strategy, and influencing the design of highly scalable, mission-critical applications.

What you'll be doing:

• Define and own the architectural vision for a large-scale, cloud-native platform handling high-volume transactional workloads.
• Design event-driven, distributed systems with a focus on performance, resilience, scalability, and operational excellence.
• Guide technology decisions across APIs, data architecture, messaging, and application design patterns.
• Partner with engineering leadership and senior stakeholders to drive technical governance and strategic design initiatives.

What we're looking for:

• 15+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time in a senior architecture or principal-level role.
• Strong background designing high-throughput distributed systems within financial services, fintech, or other highly regulated environments.
• Expertise with event-driven architectures, cloud-native application design, and modern microservices ecosystems.
• Hands-on experience with technologies such as Kafka, Java, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Redis, and large-scale data platforms.
