Purchasing Specialist

Swagelok Louisiana is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support purchasing, inventory coordination, supplier management, and third-party product sourcing operations. This is an onsite role in Baton Rouge, LA reporting to the Supply Chain Manager.

This role works closely with Sales, Production, Warehouse, Quality, and suppliers to help ensure customers receive products accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This is a fully onsite role based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Candidates must be able to work onsite Monday through Friday. We are not providing relocation assistance or visa sponsorship for this position.

What You’ll Do

• Manage day-to-day purchasing activities, including purchase orders, supplier communication, tracking, and expediting

• Obtain pricing and lead-time information for third-party products

• Maintain supplier records and documentation within ERP and quality systems

• Monitor inventory levels and support stocking strategies across multiple locations

• Communicate proactively regarding delays, shortages, and delivery updates

• Investigate and resolve supplier, product, and purchase order discrepancies

• Support supplier performance and continuous improvement initiatives

• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Warehouse, and leadership teams to support customer requirements and operational goals

What We’re Looking For

• Previous purchasing, inventory management, procurement, or supplier relations experience preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred

• SAP or other ERP system experience preferred

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving ability

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, or petrochemical environments is a plus

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
