Job Title

PCU / Stepdown Registered Nurse

Location

Columbia, MO | Stepdown / PCU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Expected 36 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Stepdown/PCU unit managing surgical, medical, and neuro patient populations
• Perform and manage vasoactive drip titration including neosynephrine, amiodarone, and cardizem
• Operate and monitor common unit equipment including IV pumps, PCA pumps, BiPAP/CPAP, optiflow, vapotherm, and bladder scanners
• Manage lines and vascular access including IV insertion, PICC/central line management, A-line management, and dialysis fistula care
• Provide airway support including CPAP/BiPAP and trach care
• Float to other units as required and manage epidural/PCA pumps, feeding tubes, and wound vacs

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience
• Proficiency in vasoactive drip titration
• Required line management skills: IV insertion, PICC/central line management, vascular device access/care, dialysis fistula care, and A-line management
• Required airway skills: CPAP/BiPAP and trach care
• Required procedural skills: epidural/PCA pump management, feeding tubes, and wound vac management

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Candidates with both ICU and PCU experience are strongly preferred
• CVP monitoring experience
• Cardiac skills including 12-lead EKG acquisition, sheath removal, and cardioversion/defibrillation
