Senior Consultant - Healthcare Financial Transformation - Clinical Integrity (Surgical Coding, CDI)

Job Family: Finance & Accounting Consulting Travel Required: Up to 75%+ Clearance Required: None What You Will Do: Clinical Integrity Senior Consultants have responsibility for client management, solution implementation and generation of project results. You will own project workstreams and interact with the client daily to ensure engagement success. This includes supporting day-to-day operational meetings with client sponsors and consulting leaders. Senior Consultants are expected to prepare and communicate well-organized, effective reports and presentations to client and internal executives. You will lead, coach and mentor junior consultants and ensure quality deliverables. Managing Consultants own client engagements from cultivation to completion. In this role, you will be accountable for the activities of the project team and support the day-to-day management of the client relationship. You are expected to effectively develop and manage work plans, staffing, deadlines and budgets for multiple complex projects simultaneously. Work products are expected to be high-quality and client-ready. In this visible role, you will lead team meetings, and guide, manage, and coach consultants and senior consultants, providing constructive feedback on project participation and overall career development. Managing Consultants work closely with Directors and Partners to keep them abreast of project progress and important developments. Managing Consultants support practice development. As you hone your project management skills, leadership abilities and the aptitude for managing multiple workstreams, you will have the opportunity to progress to the Managing Consultant level. As a Managing Consultant, you will follow a clearly defined career path and continue to develop your project management and client relationship skills. As you are ready drive strategic solutions across multiple complex workstreams and become more involved in business development, you will have the opportunity to progress to the Associate Director level. What You Will Need: BA/BS Degree or higher in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Clinical Administration, or RN Licensure HIM or Clinical Documentation Improvement certification through either of the following: AHIMA, AAPC, or ACDIS (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CDIP, CCDS) For Senior Consultant, 5 + years of experience in the role of Clinical Documentation Specialist or Inpatient Coding professional For Managing Consultant, 5 + years of professional experience in Clinical Documentation and/or Inpatient Coding in the role of Manager, Supervisor, Lead or equivalent) Strong MS-DRG/APR-DRG coding experience Strong ICD-10-CM/PCS diagnosis and surgical coding experience Strong understanding of coding and diagnosis capture for risk adjustment Strong understanding of leading practice CDI key performance indicators, financial impact, and optimized processes Ability to clearly convey the value and impact of OP IP CDI executives and hospital leadership Advanced analytical and data manipulation skills using Excel Willingness to travel to client sites across the United States up to 50% Ability to develop and deliver educational presentations to providers and clinicians What Would Be Nice To Have: Master’s Degree in business or related field 2+ years financial analysis experience in a health-related organization Experience with diverse range of EMR systems Technical EMR expertise of the revenue cycle management modules (EMR certification[s] and/or build experience highly desired) Program design experience Documentation program development ***This is a pipeline requisition. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
