Senior P&C Actuarial RoleGeneralist in a lean, high-ownership team. Closer to a lean-team generalist than a pricing-underwriting partner because the scope spans the full program lifecycle, including reserving, reporting, filings, and new-program buildout.Senior P&C actuarial role in San Francisco, with preference for Austin or San Francisco and remote consideration for candidates meeting all criteria. You will support pricing, reserving, performance analysis, underwriting, filings, and carrier relationships across auto, rideshare, RV, and specialty mobility programs. The role reports to the Head of Insurance Programs and pays $125,000-$150,000 plus equity and benefits.RequirementsStrongly preferredACAS, FCAS, or equivalent experience4+ years of P&C actuarial experienceStrong technical foundation in ratemaking, loss reserving, and trend analysisAdvanced Excel skills plus working proficiency in SQL and at least one of Python or RExperience building reports or dashboards in a BI tool (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or similar)Comfortable working with imperfect, incomplete, or newly created dataAble to explain an analysis clearly to underwriters, executives, and carrier partners who are not actuariesBachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative fieldLocated in or willing to relocate to Austin, TX or San Francisco, CA (remote possible for top candidates)Nice to haveExperience with insurtech, MGA, or program businessExposure to rate filings and state regulatory processesSkills & DomainTools: Excel, Tableau, Power BI. Domain: Personal and commercial auto actuarial, carshare/rideshare insurance modeling, program business performance analysis, rate filing and regulatory support
