Position Overview

Your role will involve providing essential service and support throughout the surgical process. This includes ensuring that surgical equipment and supplies are correctly arranged and available in the operating room for each procedure. You will assist the surgeon during operations, adhering to professional and legal standards, and help with the post-operative cleaning of the operating room, ensuring proper handling of equipment and materials.

• Completion of a surgical technician program accredited by CAAHEP is mandatory.
• Certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) is required, or the ability to obtain CST certification within six months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must strictly follow policies and regulations to maintain a sterile environment.
• Understanding of basic patient care and safety principles.
• Ability to apply aseptic techniques to ensure optimal patient care.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with the names and functions of surgical instruments and equipment is essential.
• Knowledge of various surgical procedures and the ability to anticipate the surgeon's needs.
• Commitment to maintaining certification through ongoing education.
