CT Technologist

Job Overview The CT Technologist is responsible for performing CT scans to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. They ensure the production of high-quality images and provide excellent patient care during the imaging process. Responsibilities and Duties Interpret physician orders and execute CT scans accordingly. Explain the CT scan process to patients and answer any questions they may have. Position patients properly to obtain optimal images. Administer contrast dyes intravenously when necessary. Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure accurate diagnoses can be made. Maintain patient records and update medical information in the system. Clean, disinfect, and maintain CT equipment and work area. Manage inventory of supplies and reorder as needed. Adhere to safety protocols and radiation dose standards to ensure patient and staff safety. Qualifications Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Proficiency in operating CT scanning equipment. Strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy. Excellent patient care and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Education and Experience Associates degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent. Minimum of one year of experience as a CT Technologist preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and position patients. Capability to stand for extended periods. Hospital or clinical setting with exposure to radiation.
