The school is a 9-12 grade school with around 2000 students. EHS participates in 6A-1 division of OSSAA and in the Oklahoma Big 7 Conference. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The head athletic coach assumes the extra duty of providing coaching leadership in a specified area of the school’s athletic program. As a part of that leadership responsibility, the head coach delegates responsibility for specific tasks to the assistant coach(es) and must be a member of the Oklahoma Coach’s Association (OCA). JOB GOALS: To develop a winning culture as a coach and a winning program (7-12) that results in student athletes whom achieve their potential academically, athletically, socially, and morality. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Successful candidates must perform essential duties at a professional level. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. This is a stipend position with teaching position available. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED): 3-5 years of experience coaching basketball at the high school level (head coaching experience preferred). Must possess effective coaching techniques and Must possess knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, governing organizations (OSSAA/OCA), opponents, officials, staff, parents, and ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions, to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good Hold organizational meetings for team prospects and encourage potential athletes to participate in thegolf Ensure golf coaches work together toward a common goal within thegolfprogram and provide unity within the youth community Develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time to provide both individual and team Ensure proper use of off-season time Fall, Spring, and Summer. Hold a preseason meeting with all student-athletes and parents before the first official practice. Apply and enforce student discipline during athletic contests, practice sessions, and trips off school property, encouraging sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of athletic Take all necessary precautions to protect student-athletes, equipment, and facilities, including protecting students from hazing/bullying. Maintain and secure allgolfequipment and Assist student-athletes with college Assist the Athletic Director with the scheduling of games and coordinate Act as a team representative and promote the sport by communicating with the news media, booster clubs, service clubs, and other Participate in special activities to include senior night, banquets, award nights, and pep Assists the athletic director in the recruitment/selection of assistant coaches for his/her sport Conferences with parents/guardians, as necessary, regarding the athletic performance of their Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete's Maintain nondiscriminatory practices in all Attend head coach’s meetings, staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or other appropriate ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: KNOWLEDGE Comprehensive knowledge of the game is paramount alongside extensive knowledge of current coaching techniques and Knowledge of NFHS, OSSAA, and OK Big 7 Conference Demonstrated ability to instruct and supervise student-athletes.
