School Sign Language Interpreter *Up to $43/hr

This role is a 36‑week contract as a School Sign Language Interpreter located in or near Statesville, North Carolina. The interpreter will provide accurate sign language services to students and staff during classroom instruction, meetings, and school activities. The position requires maintaining EIPA performance standards, collaborating with educators, and supporting diverse school communities. Key Responsibilities: Provide school‑based sign language interpreting services for students and staff during classroom instruction and related activities. Interpret accurately during daily instruction, meetings, and school activities, maintaining confidentiality and professional standards. Collaborate with teachers and relevant school personnel to support effective communication and student success. Maintain required EIPA performance standards and demonstrate progress toward meeting the 3.5 requirement within 3 years of hire. Arrive prepared, be reliable, and follow school and agency policies to meet the 37.5‑hour per week day schedule. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in interpreting‑related education (preferred). EIPA score of 3.3 upon hire, with requirement to achieve 3.5 within 3 years. Minimum 1 year of interpreting experience. Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a W2 basis (no visa sponsorship). Demonstrated interpreting accuracy and professionalism in a school setting. Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and student support teams. Strong communication and attention to detail. Reliability and ability to work 37.5 hours per week on a day shift. Willingness to support diverse school communities; bilingual English‑Spanish communication is a plus. Preferred Skills: Bilingual English‑Spanish communication (preferred).
