Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Location

Hays, KS | Acute Care Hospital

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 or 48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care/Stepdown unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–5
• Perform IV starts and monitor patients requiring intermediate-level care
• Participate in weekend rotation as required by the facility
• Float to other units within scope of practice to support staffing needs as needed
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech electronic health records system
• Adhere to all facility compliance requirements, including timely lab check-in within 24 hours of signing

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — pending licenses are not accepted
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience, including demonstrated IV start competency
• Meditech charting experience required
• Must live more than 45 miles from the facility to be eligible (local candidates are not accepted)
• Negative 13-panel drug screen within 30 days required; facility accepts Qgold only

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or intermediate care setting
• Familiarity with Level 3 Trauma acute care hospital environments
• Flexibility with scheduling, including willingness to work some holidays
