The successful candidate will manage complex cases from intake through resolution, including pretrial strategy, discovery, motion practice, settlement negotiations and trial. This role focuses on commercial and real estate disputes, contract and business tort litigation, insurance and bankruptcy matters, and personal injury/product and premises liability cases. Strong courtroom experience, strategic judgment, and client-focused advocacy are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a caseload of civil litigation matters including commercial, real estate, contract disputes, business torts, products liability, and premises liability, amongst others. Counsel clients on litigation strategy, risk assessment, case valuation and settlement options; maintain regular communication and manage client expectations.Conduct comprehensive legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, settlement agreements, and other court filings.Lead discovery efforts: prepare and respond to interrogatories and document requests, coordinate e-discovery, take and defend depositions, and work with experts and consultants.Prepare witnesses, exhibits, and trial materials; represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitration and at trial in state and federal courts.Negotiate favorable settlements with opposing counsel, insurance carriers and third parties when appropriate.Coordinate with in-house teams, partners, co-counsel, paralegals and external experts to advance case strategy and ensure cost-effective case management.Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and paralegals; review work product and provide guidance on litigation strategy and professional development.Maintain accurate case files, billing records and adhere to firm/office policies and ethical standards; prepare status reports for partners and clients.Support business development efforts by cultivating client relationships, participating in pitches, and contributing to practice development initiatives.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in the relevant state.Minimum 3-7 years of civil litigation experience; preference for candidates with substantial experience in commercial litigation, real estate disputes, contract disputes and business torts.Demonstrated experience handling insurance defense, bankruptcy-related litigation, transportation matters, and personal injury/product/premises liability cases is highly desirable.Proven trial and deposition experience with a record of courtroom advocacy and comfort taking matters to hearing or trial.Excellent legal research, analytical and persuasive writing skills; ability to craft clear, effective motions and briefs.Strong negotiation skills and experience resolving disputes through mediation, arbitration and settlement.Proficiency with e-discovery platforms, case management software and standard legal technology; strong organizational and time-management skills to manage heavy caseloads.Outstanding interpersonal and client-facing skills with an ability to explain complex legal issues in business terms.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; experience supervising junior attorneys or staff preferred.Willingness to travel for court appearances, depositions and client meetings as needed; valid drivers license.Commitment to high ethical standards, professional integrity, and continued legal education; business development experience a plus.BenefitsCompetitive Compensation (DOE)Comprehensive benefitsMedical/Dental/VisionHybrid/remote flexibilityFlexible hoursRetirement plan optionsPaid time offWellness programs...and more!
