Fuel & Propane DriverFuel & Propane Drivers safely deliver refined fuel and propane products and install, inspect, maintain and repair fuel and propane systems. This position combines DOT-regulated driving responsibilities with technical service work and requires strict adherence to safety, compliance, and operational standards.MFA Oil Company is an Equal Opportunity/Drug-Free Employer.ResponsibilitiesDeliver refined fuel products and propane in a defined local territory, completing daily routes as assigned by the managerLoad refined fuel and/or propane at terminals and maintain proper terminal access credentialsSafely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations and company policiesProperly use handheld systems to ensure accurate deliveriesSafely access, pull, and connect fuel hoses to deliver fuel, then properly stow hoses for transportConduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report concernsInstall propane, refined fuel, and lubricant systems, including tank setting, painting, and site preparation, working individually or as part of a construction crewDiagnose, troubleshoot, and service existing equipment and systems, including after-hours emergency servicePerform preventative maintenance on equipment as directedInspect all customer installations (tanks, pumps, regulators, lines, etc.) to ensure safe, dependable operationsHandle all "out of gas" calls according to the company's proceduresParticipate in an on-call schedule and emergency responseMaintain accurate inventory and records of parts, equipment, and all fixed assets assigned to the plant, including loaned customer equipmentEnsure all documentation is timely and accurately completed and reported, including customer service documentation, credit application, propane tank lease and transfersIdentify and timely communicate to management issues and feedback related to safety, efficiency, training needs and customer needs, questions, or concernsPresent a positive image of MFA Oil Company to the community.Provide excellent customer service, communicating policies and procedures to customers, converting eligible customers to members, and using knowledge of company products and services to help meet customer needs and grow the businessClean and maintain truck, tools and equipmentWork safely, following regulatory guidelines and company safety procedures in the completion of all dutiesMaintain all required certificationsAll MFA Oil employees are expected to know and adhere to company and position specific policies and procedures. While this job description contains the primary duties of the position, employees may be expected to perform other duties as assigned.Job RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility and willingness to work with hazardous materials and become propane (CETP/PEP) certified as determined by the state(s) servedValid driver's licenseAbility and willingness to obtain a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with tanker, HAZMAT, and air brake endorsements within the first 90 days of employment, and maintain all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements per the vehicle requirementsAbility to pass in person training and MFA Oil Company Record of Road test requiring operation of both manual and automatic transmission vehicles within 90 days of employmentAbility to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles in a variety of weather and road conditionsAbility to move equipment and position self to move and retrieve products and supplies from shelves, under counters or stacks of inventory weighing up to 100 pounds, and lift 50-pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into trucksAbility to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to nine hours per shiftAbility to ascend and descend ladders to deliver fuelAbility to learn new concepts and use technical materialsVision, hearing, speech, and the ability to detect odorsAbility to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, including handheld delivery tracking deviceAbility to consistently drive and work in outdoor weather conditionsAvailability to work a rotating on-call schedule, holidays, weekends, and after regular business as neededReliable transportation to work21 years of age or olderAbility to exchange accurate information with MFA Oil Company customers in EnglishLegal authorization to work in the United States of AmericaAbility to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening, Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), criminal background check, and MFA Oil Company road testPreferred SkillsCDL driving experienceTraining and/or experience in truck and equipment maintenanceMechanical skills (basic plumbing and electrical)Ability to work both independently and in a team environmentAbility to work under timelines and pressureAbility to work at a fast paceStrong communication skillsCustomer service skills, including the ability to establish rapport with customersSales abilitiesAbout MFA Oil CompanyMFA Oil Company, formed in 1929, is a farmer-owned cooperative and a leading propane retailer in the United States.
