UX Designer
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, design and prototype new features for self-serve platforms (eCommerce, online self-serve portal and mobile app) through visual specifications, wireframes, sketches, blueprints and mock-ups
- Identify the scope of work and provide estimates for User Experience (UX) and User Interaction (UI) activities
- Run UX workshops to identify and qualify personas
- Perform usability testing to ensure that end solutions match requirements
- Participate in and lead design reviews
- Compose UX Audit reports with rationale and recommendations
- Collaborate on user experience planning for digital assets
- Identify and troubleshoot UX problems and struggle areas
- Incorporate corporate standards and industry best practices into solution design
- Facilitate and incorporate usability testing feedback into solution designs
- Work with Information Systems department for UX design and release management
- Deliver designs from concept through to development
- Facilitate and participate in user requirements gathering for self-serve projects
- Maintain UX and UI professional development and certifications (as appropriate)
- Other UX duties as required
Qualifications:
- 5+ years' experience in a UX designer role is desired with proven work experience
- Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Invision, etc.
- Advanced understanding of self-serve and eCommerce websites and mobile apps
- Experience conducting and leading UX research practices and audits
- Experience with UX design for digital assets (website, ecommerce platforms, self-management platforms)
- Experience with user interface guidelines and typical conventions for iPhone, Android and Windows Phone
- Team player, strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
- Experience conducting and analyzing competitive and consumer research
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to multi-task
- Proven attention to detail and exceptional organization, logic and analytical skills
- Experience with Agile projects
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Design, Development, Engineering, Business or relevant field
- User experience and/or user interaction design training and/or certification desired
- Familiarity with User Experience design considered a strong asset
- Familiarity with the telecommunications industry is considered an asset
