Project Manager (Major Projects)

Project ManagerTucker Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for our Major Projects Group to assist the company in meeting its objectives and goals by overseeing and directing assigned commercial mechanical construction projects at various locations in Connecticut and taking appropriate actions to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and with defined resources.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Prepare bids and job quotes for projectsManage construction projectsExecute and manage terms of project contractsMake sure a complete scope of work is definedMonitor project budgets and labor costsMonitor and prepare project schedules with milestone deadlines to be achieved.Review, analyze and make recommendations on project change ordersEstimate/price change orders as requiredAnalyze plans and subsequent construction documents to confirm project requirements and opportunities for value engineeringPrepare documents for billing purposes and coordinate with accounting personnel.Review project with President and CFO periodically and per request.Maintain regular communication and collaborationSpending time on assigned job sitesPrepare and manage communications with general contractors, Owners, or construction managers for assigned projectsRecommend methods and/or improvements based on project needs and resource capabilities.Report and resolve employee concerns and/or grievances as neededEnsure job site employees maintain a safe work environmentAttend and conduct meetings as requiredComply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as establishedPreferred education and/or experience includes 5-7 years construction work-related HVAC and Plumbing experience and a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel and Word, Bluebeam Revu PDF editing, and COINs experience is preferred.Required attributes include excellent written and verbal communications skills, the ability to prioritize in a fast paced, multi-task environment, demonstrated ability to perform basic business mathematical functions, the ability to work with minimal supervision, effective time and detail management, the ability to interpret a variety of instructions, organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data, compliance with all operating policies, procedures, plans, and programs, and the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, vendors, and suppliers.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
