The role involves providing critical care to patients in a fast-paced environment, specializing in post-operative cardiac surgery care and advanced cardiac devices.Unit Specifics\n \n Number of Beds: 16\n Patient Ratios: 1:2, 1:1 for select device patients\n Staffing Description: Free floating charge nurse and unit secretary available during weekdays, with tech support provided by Administrative Care Technicians and Student Nurse Externs.\n Type of Equipment: Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, Alaris IV pumps\n Documentation System: Meditech\n Scheduling Requirements: Must work 2 weekends per month and 1 summer holiday. Also required to work 2 winter holidays.\n Floating Policy: Employees may float to other ICU units or floors as needed.\n Required Skills and Certifications\n \n Must Have: Strong critical care experience, including CVICU experience.\n Advanced Skills: Proficiency in PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring. Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT is preferable.\n Procedures Performed: Care for immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including support for ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADS. Ability to perform central line insertion, Swan-Ganz insertion, and intubations.\n Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS\n Dress Code\n Required uniform includes scrubs in black, red, or galaxy blue.
