Job Location: Princeton Detox and Recovery Center LLC - Monmouth Junction, NJ 08852 Position Type: Full Time; Salary Range: $15.87 - $20.00 hourly; Shift: Night (Third Shift) Position Purpose Assist in providing a safe environment for individuals while they are in the program. Liaison between client and staff; supervise clients focusing on safety and wellbeing. Qualifications Education: High School diploma or GED. Experience: None. Licensure/Certification: Current CPR certification. Knowledge & Training: General knowledge of addictions, mental health complications, 12‑Step Recovery Program, problem‑solving, stress management, ethics, team building; understanding of alcohol and other drug effects on the individual and family; ability to determine medical emergencies and act appropriately; familiarity with emergency procedures for overdoses; knowledge of withdrawal stages and appropriate actions; awareness of federal, state, and local regulations governing treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction (confidentiality, client rights, professional ethics, discrimination); knowledge of airborne and blood‑borne pathogens (TB, HIV, AIDS, HBV) and risk reduction; and flexibility to adapt to schedule changes. Responsibilities Assist with the admission process and orientation procedures. Record inventory of all personal belongings, valuables, and return tickets; store tickets and valuables in the safe. Facilitate all orientation groups with clients. Fill out required lab requisitions per protocol. Know where clients are at all times. Transport clients in company vehicles as needed. De‑escalate AMA and other client problems. Participate in all department and staff meetings as scheduled. Provide liaison with staff and other tech to ensure that all clients’ needs are met. Provide supervision of meals. Ensure that garbage is disposed of properly after each meal. Monitor group rooms to ensure cleanliness after each activity. Hand off information necessary for oncoming staff at the end of the shift; maintain logbook for continuity of care; participate in shift turnover. Participate in required staff training. Supervise clients completing the program with emphasis on safety and wellbeing. Remind clients of program rules and regulations as necessary and report infractions appropriately. Provide emotional support for clients while referring them to clinical staff for clinical issues. Complete HGC screening per protocol. Complete breathalyzer testing per protocol. Complete pain screening per protocol. Complete incident reports according to policy in a timely, accurate manner. Communicate with other staff as necessary to promote quality client care. Complete UA screen collection as needed per protocol. Conduct vital checks and suicide screenings per protocol. Observe and report safety and maintenance problems. Interact appropriately with clients, showing them respect while maintaining boundaries. Exercise sound professional judgment and seek assistance as necessary to manage client behavior effectively. Protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with company privacy policies and applicable law. Access protected health information only as necessary for job duties and share it with authorized personnel. Report concerns about privacy policy violations to supervisor without retaliation. Perform other duties assigned. Maine Specific Responsibilities Peer recovery educational groups if ADCA certified or above. Texas Only Responsibilities Recognize signs of withdrawal. Client observation and monitoring skills/procedures. Knowledge of pregnancy‑related complications. Knowledge of complications requiring transfers. Knowledge of appropriate interventions. Knowledge of frequently used medications including purpose, precautions, and side effects.
