Advertising Summary: Unit: School Of Medicine MBU Department: Institute for Liver Disease Position Summary: The Stravitz‐Sanyal Institute for Liver Disease and MetabolicHealth is recruiting a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to joinDr. Arun Sanyal’s lab. The research within the institute focuses ontackling liver diseases with new ways to prevent, reverse and curethem. Our team of highly specialized physician-scientists conductscutting-edge investigations through benchmark research and clinicaltrials across a broad spectrum of diseases and conditions relatedto liver. The Institute engages in multiple partnerships withpharmaceutical companies and academic institutions to acceleratetranslational research. You will work alongside luminaries and keyopinion leaders in the fields of liver and metabolic health toaccelerate and translate discoveries into clinical practice. This postdoctoral position will work on the development ofcomputational and analytic methods for the analysis of largepopulation scale datasets. You will work with multi-modal imaging,lifestyle, and genomic datasets including UKBiobank, TriNetX andEHR data. Postdoctoral employment is normally limited to an individual whohas been awarded a doctoral degree within the previous five years.This is a 12-month appointment with the possibility of renewal (foran additional 1-2 years in one-year increments) contingent uponsatisfactory performance and the availability of funding. Salarywill be commensurate with education and experience. Salary is basedon NRSA scale for postdoctoral stipends – NOT-OD-25-105. Thisposition will remain open until filled. The University will performbackground checks on all new hires prior to employment. Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, ComputerScience, Statistics, Biostatistics or related fields. Excellent computational skills: proficiency in R and Python, RShiny, high-performance computing Excellent record of scientific contributions, publications, andpresentations: primary or key author on one or more majorpresentations and papers. Experience working with large-scale data; familiarity withimaging analysis, image registration, natural language processingis a plus. Experience working in collaborative environment, ability towork on multiple projects, and shifting priorities to meetdeadlines. Creativity, curiosity, high energy, and the desire, persistenceand ability to create scientific advances in biomedicalscience.
