Inside Sales Representative

The Inside Sales Representative will play a critical role in supporting Balco's sales growth initiatives by providing responsive customer support, generating and managing project opportunities, collaborating with outside sales teams, and delivering a best-in-class customer experience that strengthens Balco's position in the construction and architectural building products market.

Responsibilities include:

• Review customer requirements, plans and specifications to recommend appropriate product solutions.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve service-related challenges.
• Communicate effectively with customers, distributors, and architects through various channels.
• Identify and qualify new sales opportunities through inbound inquiries and proactive outbound outreach.
• Support Direct Sales Managers and Third-Party Rep Agencies by generating leads and reaching out to current customers.
• Reach out to dormant customers to help regenerate sales.
• Reach out to architects to get Balco in specs.
• Participate in sales meetings, product training and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Entry or approval of physical samples/literature.
• Provide quotes for Reps and customers.
• Follow up on proposals to increase conversion rates and secure new business.
• Provide special pricing as needed.
• Entry of detail requests to Project Detailing.
• Assist in executing sales strategies and initiatives to achieve company growth objectives.

Qualifications (Knowledge & Skills) include:

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both orally and in writing.

• Ability to maintain composure during difficult conversations.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in accordance with business needs.
• Technical aptitude and ability to effectively utilize Microsoft suite programs and an ERP system and run reports.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Post-secondary technical education preferred.

Experience:

• 2 or more years of experience in a customer service role utilizing an online ordering platform and providing technical support.
• Experience troubleshooting technical problems and providing solutions.
• Experience utilizing MS Suite, Power Bi, and Salesforce.
• Experience working with or in architectural, construction, or engineering firms or similar is preferred.

Work Environment:

Office: This position works in person at our office in Wichita, Kansas. Employees will work in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment, and being seated for long periods of time.

Other Requirements:

• Candidates who receive an offer of employment must successfully pass a background check and drug screen.
• Must be able to reach, bend, kneel, and crouch occasionally.
• Must be able to safely lift 40 pounds.
