We are looking for a Licensed Optical Associate to join our Optical team. As part of a fast-paced, dynamic team, you will dispense spectacles and contact lenses to both adults and children, while advising and assisting customers with various types of lenses and spectacle frames. If you are looking for a great opportunity to pursue a rewarding career with a company known for quality and big savings, apply today!Job ResponsibilitiesVerify prescription orders for accuracy by comparing system entries to the prescribing doctor's original prescription and maintain organized order files using established store procedures.Deliver exceptional customer service in person and by phone by assisting customers, explaining products and services, and creating a welcoming, professional experience.Accurately interpret prescriptions, perform optical measurements, verify prescriptions using a lensometer, recommend appropriate frame and lens options, and ensure proper frame selection based on prescription requirements.Manage the order fulfillment process by updating order status, notifying customers when orders are ready, dispensing complete eyewear, and accurately processing all sales and payment transactions.Perform eyewear fittings, adjustments, repairs, and troubleshooting to ensure proper fit, comfort, and visual performance.Operate and maintain optical equipment, including the lensometer, autorefractor, and non-contact tonometer (NCT), in accordance with company procedures and state licensing requirements.Maintain compliance with all company policies, state licensing regulations, HIPAA requirements, and confidentiality standards.Support daily store operations by assisting the Optical Manager with opening and closing procedures, cash reconciliation, and maintaining accurate point-of-sale transactions.Foster positive working relationships with Boscov's store leadership and associates to promote a collaborative customer-focused environment.Maintain a clean, organized, and professional optical department that supports an exceptional customer experience.Job RequirementsMust be a licensed optician within the State and keep the license up to date and active1 year of optical experience1 year of experience working in a retail storeHigh school diploma or GED equivalentPrior sales experience, preferredExceptional communication and interpersonal skillsStrong customer service skillsMust have the ability to prioritizeAbility to work as a team memberMust have a strong sense of fashion and trendsKnowledge of the proper use of lensometer, auto refractor and NCT equipmentPosition is active and includes moving about throughout department during the shiftBenefits At Boscov's, we value our employees, and that's why we provide a competitive compensation and benefits package.
