PLUMBER

Position Overview Port of Stockton is seeking a skilled journey level tradesman to work as a Plumber serving one of the fastest growing ports on the West Coast. The role involves a full range of journey-level plumbing installations, repairs, and services. Responsibilities Identify isolation valves; install, maintain, and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, hot water tanks, and fire systems. Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings and pipes made of metal (iron, steel, brass, lead) and non-metal (glass, vitrified clay, plastic). Study building plans and working drawings to determine necessary work aids and sequence of installations. Locate and mark positions of pipe connections and passage holes in walls, floors, and on the property. Cut, bend, assemble, and install various pipes, fittings, and fixtures for fire and domestic water, sanitary, drainage, heating, gas, and other plumbing systems, performing hand, bench, and maintenance tasks. Thread, ream, assemble, caulk, solder, and weld various pipes and component parts. Repair and install new water and drainage lines and waste and sewage pipes.
