Survey Intern Department: Survey Employment Type: Internship Location: Charlotte, NC Description Morgan Corp. is seeking candidates for survey internships for the summer of 2027. This opportunity is for students majoring in Geomatics, Surveying, or Survey-Related Technology who wantreal-world experience with one of the largest heavy civil construction firms in the Southeast. Social Contract Work-based experience highlights: Survey fieldwork based in NC, SC & GA Professional Development Safety and Technical Training 1:1 Mentorship Work Environment Work is performed outside in all types of environmental conditions. This position performs strenuous physical activity for long periods under varying and adverse field conditions. This position must be able to lift, carry, stand, walk on uneven surfaces, manually manipulate, grasp, reach out above the shoulder, climb, kneel, bend, twist, and push/pull. As a survey intern, you’ll work closely with a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) and other experienced survey professionals to gain hands‑on exposure to the tools, methods, and challenges of surveying in the construction industry. You will: Assist in performing topographic surveys using GPS rovers, robotic total stations, and drones. Support and observe level and traverse loops to verify control locations and elevations. Perform or assist with construction as‑built surveys for project closeout requirements. Gain exposure to drafting and construction as‑built documentation. Collaborate with project teams and survey managers to solve real‑world field challenges.
