Full-Time | First Shift (Flexible Start: 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM)

Position Summary

The HR Generalist partners with the Director of Human Resources to support and execute the full scope of HR operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining a positive, compliant, and efficient workplace by supporting employees and leadership across areas including employee relations, payroll, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, compliance, and HR systems. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented, family-owned environment and enjoys balancing both administrative and strategic HR responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• HR Operations & Support
  • Assist in the execution of HR programs, policies, and company initiatives
  • Serve as a primary HR contact for employees and managers
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation, and reporting
• Payroll, Compensation & Benefits
  • Process payroll and ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs
  • Support benefits enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
  • Maintain payroll and HRIS data integrity (Paylocity, ADP, or similar)
• Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Support recruiting efforts (job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination)
  • Facilitate onboarding to ensure a smooth new hire experience
• Employee Relations & Performance Management
  • Address employee questions and resolve workplace issues
  • Support performance management processes and documentation
  • Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization
• Compliance & HR Systems
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Administer FMLA and other leave programs
  • Maintain and update HRIS systems and reporting
• Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to HR process improvements and operational efficiency
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and workplace culture efforts

Required Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of Human Resources experience
• Experience in:
  • Employee relations
  • Payroll processing
  • Benefits administration
  • HR compliance
• Hands-on experience with HRIS/payroll systems (Paylocity, ADP, or similar)
• Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
• Experience supporting recruiting and onboarding processes
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working onsite in a manufacturing setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
• Experience with Paylocity Web Pay
• Background in HR systems administration and reporting
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopewell Junction, NY.

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46/hr.
