Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room (OR) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.) Experience: Two years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Epic experience, Orthopedics, General, Vascular, Urology, Thoracic, AAA experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are paramount. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit. Promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Using the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. Focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. Applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care. Mentors and precepts staff. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization and patient/family. Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Demonstrates and encourages teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
