Volunteer Youth Educator & Mentor at Creative Studio

Volunteer Needs: Youth Educator (lead and teach a class in your subject matter expertise area) Rotating Mentor (support a group of DES students throughout the cohort) Class Support (assist DES staff to manage and support student and classroom needs) Event Support (prep and/or day-of support for DES events) Volunteer Requirements: Available to volunteer for the required time period Able to attend in-person unless remote support is an option Complete additional background checks Complete necessary training to work with and support students Fall 2025 Cohort Details: The Fall 2025 Cohort runs October 21, 2025 – January 22, 2026 Applications must be submitted by September 26, 2025 Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6 pm Volunteers are responsible for transportation to and from Hunt Street Station in Detroit Meals will be provided for all in-class volunteers We believe the best work happens when we’re together, fostering creativity, collaboration, and connection.
