The position is for night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The facility is a 257-bed hospital recognized for quality care. It offers advanced medical services, including open-heart surgery and stroke care. The unit provides specialized care in telemetry and oncology. The staffing ratio is typically 1:5 to 1:6. Supporting staff includes unit secretaries, CNAs, and a pharmacist. The documentation system used is Meditech. Nurses are expected to focus on personal connections with patients. Effective communication with patients and families is essential. Chemotherapy and wound care administration are performed on this unit. Advanced skills in chemotherapy administration are required. All staff must adhere to the required dress code of navy blue scrubs. Tattoos must be covered and no piercings are allowed during shifts. Tenured staff members support self-scheduling options for nurses. Recognitions include accreditation from the Commission on Cancer.
