RN Labor and Delivery

The Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care for patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods in a rural hospital setting. This role includes managing antepartum, postpartum, and nursery care, ensuring fetal monitoring and maternal stabilization. The nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to support safe deliveries and optimal patient outcomes, requiring strong clinical skills and experience in obstetric nursing. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care for laboring mothers, including monitoring fetal and maternal status.
• Manage antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patient care.
• Perform nursery care for newborns following delivery.
• Serve as an OB circulator during deliveries when required.
• Utilize fetal monitoring equipment to assess fetal well-being.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement care plans.
• Respond to emergencies and provide ACLS and NRP interventions as needed.

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 2 years labor and delivery nursing experience.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Stable fetal monitoring, and Intermediate fetal monitoring.
• Strong clinical skills in antepartum, postpartum, and nursery care.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced labor and delivery environment.

• Experience as an OB circulator during deliveries.
• Previous experience working in rural hospital settings.

• Must be able to provide comprehensive labor and delivery care; postpartum-only experience is not acceptable.
• Work involves night shifts and may require responsiveness to emergent patient needs.

• Night shift schedule.
• Shift assignments based on hospital staffing needs and patient census.
