Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Gig Harbor, WA | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-Hour Shifts) | Onsite | Weekend and holiday coverage based on unit needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 96-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with patient ratios of 1:4–6, managing diagnoses including CHF, COPD, pneumonia, general surgical, and medical telemetry cases
• Titrate drips including Heparin, blood products, and IV fluids as required
• Validate and read telemetry strips in collaboration with monitor technicians across 16 telemetry-capable beds
• Collaborate with Charge Nurses and House Supervisors to ensure safe, effective unit operations
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed based on census and staffing demands
• Participate in a 3-shift unit-specific orientation coordinated through the onboarding process

Required Qualifications

• Active Washington State RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• Telemetry experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing common MS/Tele diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, and post-surgical patients
• Familiarity with titratable drip protocols in an acute care setting
• Experience working alongside monitor technicians in a telemetry environment
