Pest Control Specialist

The Integrated Pest Specialist (IPS) works in coordination with the Integrated Pest Manager to ensure the facilitys Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program is effectively implemented and maintained. The IPS operates independently to carry out IPM treatments and perform routine scouting activities as assigned. This role supports all cultivation areas and plant growth stages, including propagation, vegetative rooms, and flower rooms, ensuring consistent monitoring, prevention, and control of pests and plant health issues. Responsibilities Conduct the spray schedule for both pest and disease prevention, ensuring correct chemical mixture rates. Identification and remediation of any possible pest or disease entries into the grow areas Application of beneficial organisms Proper recording of any pesticide application into the pesticide log as required by the Cannabis Control Commission. Conduct weekly bug scouts Conduct weekly reading of yellow sticky cards Maintenance of IPM equipment (sprayers, foggers, etc.) Respond to and clean chemical spills in the cultivation grow areas Uphold biosecurity procedures Responsible for completing any work assigned during a scheduled shift, as well as information sharing: Maintain open communication with the Integrated Pest Manager and other co-workers Maintain a clean, sanitary work environment while prioritizing worker safety Knowledge and understanding of safe pesticide use and CCC-approved pesticides Following all Commonwealth Alternative Care policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Management reserves the right to modify, add, or remove job duties at any time, with or without prior notice, in accordance with business needs. Intermediate computer proficiency, including word processing and data entry Pesticide Applicator's license preferred, but not required Strong attention to detail Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Commitment to following established safety protocols and procedures. Working Conditions/Physical Demands Must be able to lift up to 50poundsand repeatedly carry1520 pounds across the warehouse or greenhouse. Frequent and repetitive use of hands for tasks including pruning, transplanting, and equipment handling. The employee must beable to sit or stand for long durations and perform essential physical functions, including kneeling, stooping, bending, and twisting within confined or restricted spaces. The employee must be able to work in hot, humid environments and tolerate exposure to workplace elements such as dust, allergens, and water.
