About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8-hour shifts Hours per Shift: 0630-1500, Monday-Friday. Evening and weekend call required Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Robot and GI experience preferred; Scrubbing required Description: Hiring process includes a profile review and an interview with the unit manager. Candidates must submit a driver's license. Orientation is mandatory. The operating room has 4 suites and 1 GI endoscopy room. The average number of cases per day is 10. Required certifications include BLS. Common cases include robotic/laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repair, appendectomies, basic orthopedic, gynecological, and podiatry procedures. Charge Nurse/House Supervisor roles are available, but this position will not involve those responsibilities. Each case will staff at least 1 OR tech and 1 first assistant. The charting system in use is Epic. Shifts are scheduled from 0630-1500, Monday-Friday, with evening and weekend call required. Call response time is expected to be within 30 minutes. There are no floating requirements outside of the operating room; limited floating may occur within designated zones if needed. Scrub color is ceil blue and provided. Orientation includes a checkoff for contract staff, allowing time with staff until comfortable. Cancellation policy allows for the cancellation of up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. This position will operate in an acute care setting and is associated with a trauma level 3 environment.
