Import Coordinator | Los Angeles, California | Salary up to $70,000 This position is responsible for coordinating and managing international air and ocean import shipments, ensuring timely cargo movement, maintaining accurate import documentation, supporting regulatory compliance, and providing exceptional service to customers, overseas partners, carriers, and service providers. The candidate will have previous experience in air and ocean import operations within a freight forwarding environment, along with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Competitive salary up to $70,000, depending on experience Comprehensive health insurance and benefits package Paid vacation, holidays, and personal time off Career development and advancement opportunities Supportive and collaborative team environment Key Responsibilities Manage and coordinate international air and ocean import shipments from origin through final delivery Communicate with customers, overseas agents, airlines, ocean carriers, trucking companies, customs brokers, and warehouse facilities regarding shipment status, requirements, and schedules Prepare, review, and process import documentation, including arrival notices, bills of lading (BOLs), air waybills (AWBs), commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs-related documentation Coordinate with overseas offices and service providers to ensure timely shipment movement and accurate documentation flow Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve delays, documentation discrepancies, customs issues, or transportation-related challenges Arrange and coordinate drayage, trucking, deconsolidation, warehousing, and final delivery services as required Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, import security requirements, and other applicable international trade regulations Work closely with customs brokers to facilitate customs clearance and timely cargo release Prepare customer invoices, verify vendor charges, and maintain accurate billing records Update shipment milestones and maintain accurate records within internal operating systems Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to shipment inquiries and customer requests Maintain compliance with company policies, security requirements, and international air and ocean freight standards Qualifications Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in air and/or ocean import freight forwarding required Strong understanding of international air and ocean import procedures and documentation requirements Experience coordinating import shipments, customs clearance processes, and transportation logistics Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, ISF filings, and import compliance procedures preferred Familiarity with CargoWise or similar freight forwarding software is a plus Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, vendors, and overseas partners #J-18808-Ljbffr People Freight | Freight Forwarding & Logistics Recruitment Specialists
