Line Technician IV (LTIV)Are you mechanically inclined with hands-on experience running, setting up, and fine-tuning automated machinery? We are looking for a Line Technician IV (LTIV) who possesses strong mechanical skills—similar to a Line Mechanic—to focus specifically on production technology operations, line setups, parameter adjustments, and real-time operational troubleshooting.Unlike general maintenance roles, this position is centered directly on the production line: keeping technology running smoothly, ensuring quality standards, executing rapid changeovers, and mentoring junior technicians.Key Responsibilities & Percentage of Time Spent1. Machine Setup, Changeovers & Operation (50%)Setups & Changeovers: Independently perform technical setups, endorse line clearance, adjust process parameters, and execute timely changeovers across 4+ technologies within production departments.Line Monitoring: Monitor and manage multiple technologies simultaneously on high-speed production lines; respond quickly to minimize downtime.System Tracking: Utilize the Maintenance Connection system to log downtime reporting and track preventive maintenance schedules.Quality & Safety Assurance: Correct out-of-spec conditions promptly to maintain strict product quality standards and safe operating conditions.2. Troubleshooting & Mechanical Support (30%)Root-Cause Troubleshooting: Apply advanced mechanical and operational troubleshooting techniques to resolve complex machine issues causing production downtime or inefficiencies.Peer Training & Mentorship: Train and mentor Level 1–3 Line Technicians on safety practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality checks, and basic operational troubleshooting.3. Housekeeping, Safety & Continuous Improvement (15%)Workplace Standards: Champion clean and organized work spaces following 5S, cGMP, and workplace safety guidelines.Continuous Improvement: Participate actively in plant safety initiatives and continuous improvement/Lean manufacturing projects.4. Flexible Support (5%)Shift Flexibility: Willingness to rotate across all 3 production shifts as operational needs require.Minimum QualificationsEducation: Industrial Maintenance Certificate, Mechatronics Technology Certificate, or 3+ years of equivalent hands-on experience.Basic math proficiency, including the ability to accurately read rulers and micrometers.Fluent in speaking, reading, writing, and comprehending English.Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in a high-volume, machine-paced manufacturing or packaging environment.Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated experience in machinery troubleshooting, rapid changeovers, and equipment setup.Key CompetenciesMechanical Inclination: Strong operational mechanics mindset (troubleshooting linkages, sensors, adjustments, and parameters directly on the production line).Problem Solving & Critical Thinking: Ability to diagnose mechanical and operational issues under fast-paced conditions.Lean Principles & Quality: Knowledge of 5S, cGMP, and basic Lean manufacturing principles.Communication & Leadership: Effective verbal communication skills and a willingness to collaborate across teams and mentor junior technicians.Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts to changing shift schedules or production line priorities.About Schwan Cosmetics USAAt Schwan Cosmetics USA, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace.
