Plasma Center Nurse - RN

Role Overview As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will support the day‑to‑day operations of a plasma donation center. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and, for medical issues, under the authority of the Center Physician. You will ensure compliance with industry regulations and provide center‑level support for environmental, health and safety (EHS) matters. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, and acceptance requirements. Conduct physical examinations, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of the Center Physician’s standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, ensuring donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable. Manage employee incidents, determine the need for further evaluation by occupational health or employee relations, and refer to EHS guidance. Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to local pandemic threats in collaboration with EHS or Medical Affairs. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or completion of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment (Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant). Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. State‑required basic IV therapy proficiency. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialists. Minimum of two years of clinical or hospital experience. Compensation U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $33.44 – $45.98, depending on qualifications and experience. Wages are in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements.
