Job Title: Buyer

Location: Indianapolis, IN 46225

Duration: Contract - 6 months, possible extension

Schedule: Hybrid, two days onsite

 

Job Description

• We are seeking a Buyer to join our team. The successful candidate will develop and implement global external supplier and commodity strategies that improve quality, cost, and delivery across the full product and service life cycle. The role will operate within the supply chain and purchasing teams to resolve supplier commercial issues and enhance competitive and commercial performance.

 

Responsibilities:

• Support and/or lead key contract negotiations, including cost analyses and negotiations on terms and conditions.
• Manage sourcing of parts and services, and create and maintain purchase documents.
• Oversee supplier operations and relationships within assigned commodity groups.
• Drive cost reduction and cost management to meet company targets.
• Support and/or lead development and execution of commodity strategies.
• Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Associate degree with 4+ years of operational, procurement, or logistical experience, OR Bachelor's with 2+ years, OR Master's degree, OR JD/PhD, OR 6+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience in supplier negotiations and contract management.
• Proficiency in sourcing, purchasing documentation, and supplier relationship management.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Prior procurement experience supporting government programs.
• Technical aptitude relevant to supplier and commodity management.
• Purchasing experience in a global environment.
• SAP experience.
